Greetings Friends, Colleagues, & Fellow Rhode Islanders,
Artist, Restauranteur, Teacher, And Rhode Island Native Anthony Tomaselli Is Once Again Opening The Doors To His Studio At The World Famous Fleur De Lys Building (Part Of The PVD Art Club) On Providence’s Historic East Side For His Annual Holiday Open Studio Saturdays.
It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year:
Join us on Saturday, December 3rd from 11am to 5pm or Saturday, December 10th from 11am to 4pm to view new paintings (many framed and ready for gifting), enjoy festive music, and more.
Anthony is available to chat about his history as well as that of the Providence Art Club and its buildings. Also, how he, the Art Club, the city of Providence, and the local art scene are all aligned.
Art And Food
Not only is Anthony Tomaselli one of RI’s most prolific and esteemed painters, but he (along with his wife Tina) grew a tiny variety store on Budlong Road in Cranston into three thriving T’s Restaurant locations in Cranston, Narragansett, and EG.
Providence Art
Anthony has been painting for over 40 years. He is a member of the Providence Art Club, on the board there, and teaches classes as well. (People also have been known to drive from Connecticut and Massachusetts just to attend.)
In addition, he still finds time to mentor and collaborate with other creatives at the Club and beyond. Over the years, he has opened the doors to his restaurants and hosted shows for emerging local photographers and artists.
The Fleur
And last but not least, Anthony’s studio space is on the first level of the legendary (and eye-catching) Fleur-de-Lys, part of the four Providence Art Club buildings on Thomas Street and immortalized in one of HP Lovecraft’s stories. There’s really nowhere else quite like it in Lil’ Rhody!
